What’s chi? How do I free it?
Chi (pronounced chee) 1.the vital energy’ or ‘vital force’ that animates the human body.(Merriam-Webster).  2. the inate ability of your body to change, to make something happen.

Chi is a beautiful concept from the long history of Chinese philosophy and medicine.  The character for chi is rice cooking on a stove.  Doesn't sound very mystical, does it?  The character implies-what allows dry rice to change into cooked rice?  Chi!  Chi allows things to become other things.  Dry rice doesn't have to become cooked rice, but it does...under just the right circumstances.  If we provide the proper environment, change happens spontaneously, all by itself.  The force behind that change is chi.  We see change around us all day long, so we tend to take for granted that change is a constant.  That is, until change suddenly doesn't happen the way we like, or it does happen and we don't want it to.

Our bodies are constantly changing, and chi is the force behind these changes as well.  However, our body often doesn't seem to follow our "instructions" on how we want it to change.  When pain doesn't go away, we stay angry, depressed, or we just feel stuck.  That is why acupuncture is so powerful.  Acupuncture can help provide the proper environment so changes happen spontaneously by themselves.  Acupuncture can help you free your chi.
